Life Coach for Women Portland, Maine

About Me

My coaching story.

As a competitive athlete when I was younger, I grew up being coached. When I was struggling to overcome some physical, mental, even emotional obstacle in whatever sport I was playing at the time, I wasn’t doing it alone. I had a coach there in my corner, guiding me through it. Working with my weaknesses and strengths, so I could show up the best player I had the capacity and desire to be.

But at some point, I graduated from sports—and my coaches—and entered normal life.

Grad school, house, marriage, a business, an acquisition, start-up life, kids. These all happened. None of them easily, most with lots of tears in fact, but I muscled through. I was going through the motions of adult life. I was “adulting.” And from the outside, it looked like I was succeeding.

But the sum of these parts did not add up to what I thought they should…or could. I wasn’t unhappy. But I also was wondering “So is this it?”

Like many, I couldn’t see the forest amongst the trees. I couldn’t see how my weaknesses were getting in the way of my strengths shining through.

That’s when I found my own coach. Things were messy at first, but then they started to get clearer—the fog started to lift. I felt a fullness that I hadn’t felt in years that has had enduring effects on my relationships, roles, and mindset.

Since then, I have continued to work with coaches and therapists while growing my own coaching and life design practice over the past 8 years.

I feel so privileged to be able to do for my clients what my coaches have done for me.

More about me.

  • I love living by the water. Our last few homes were unintentionally close to bodies of water (tiny and big) but I realized that walk near the water can heal just about anything.

  • I judge books by their cover. I avoid mysteries, thrillers, suspense and anything dark remotely dark or devilish. Romance, light historical fiction, and personal narratives are more my speed.

  • One of my favorite things to do is to cook and feed other adults. One of my least favorite things to do is feed picky toddlers.

  • Sunrise walks + listening to audiobooks is my favorite way to start the day. Followed by a walk to Scratch Bakery with our daughters to pick up breakfast treats.

  • I experienced mental health challenges during the fertility process with our first daughter and then postpartum anxiety after the birth of our second. To help promote equal access to maternal mental health support, I do some work for Canopie, a truly amazing company committed to improving maternal-child health outcomes.

  • I live in Portland, ME with my two daughters (an IVF baby and rainbow baby) and a super smart + silly husband.

  • My undergraduate degree is from Dartmouth College, Magna Cum Laude.

  • My coaching certification is from IIN with continuing education from New Ventures West and the University of Pennsylvania.

  • I am a certified yoga instructor and Masters of Social Work candidate.
